Venue for annual meeting by John Kircher
We checked with the Tomato Palace about holding MMYC's annual meeting there on the third Saturday in January. They informed us that the probably would be undergoing major renovation during that time frame and could not guarantee that a lunch/meeting space would be available. We looked for similar venues in the area and none seem to be able to: (1) provide a luncheon meeting for 20+ folks on the third Saturday; and (2) provide some sort of meeting/discussion atmosphere without a major dollar commitment. Jervis Dorton secured the Thunder Hill Road Neighborhood Center at a reasonable cost.
The Thunder Hill Road Neighborhood Center is bright, well lit, lots of windows, on the ground floor, tables and chairs, private bath rooms, close to parking, private area and will work for our annual meeting.
John Kircher will present a brief treasurer's report as well as the status of the racing venue at the Pond. He will also and present plans for the EC-12 2012 racing schedule. Jervis Dorton will present his plans for the 2012 Victoria racing season. We've both decided that until we can get a feel for who is going to show up and how may folks will volunteer we will not host any "special" race days in 2012.
